Has Anyone Seen My Sunday?

Got up for church this morning; it was almost 20 degrees outside.  Not snowing but really cold (okay, by west coast standards, really cold).  Got a call telling me the church parking lot was ice and that with my bad hips & legs, I might want to stay home this morning.  Since I was hurting like crazy from the weather anyway, I didn't argue.  I got out of my 'go to church clothes', into my grubbies, curled up on the couch with my coffee and my dog and threw a blanky over my legs and tried to get comfortable.

Some five hours later (about noon) a neighbor woke me when he stopped by to check on me (he does this every month or two).  He hadn't seen my car leave this morning and the newspaper was still out in front and he thought he'd make sure everything was okay with me.  We visited for a few minutes, he left, I reloaded the pellet stove and resumed my position on the couch.

When I woke again at 3:30, I realized I wasn't going to make the prayer vigil at 2pm and decided that maybe a little fresh air was in order, however, and Katie and I went outside to reset the timers for my yard lights and to walk around the yard where the snow had melted and get the fuzz out of my brain.

It's now after 4 o'clock, the day is shot and I have no idea where my Sunday went.  Guess I'll settle in to watch the Oscars and critique the "designs" being worn on the red carpet.  Sure hope I can sleep tonight.  I don't want to lose my Monday too.

  1. I know how ya feel. I spent Sunday morning gainfully "employed" working on billing for a friend. I made the mistake of coming out to the living room couch in the afternoon with my now-working computer and spent the entire time until just now reading up on Alaska and the Iditarod. The race begins a week from Saturday, and I plan to be ready. Especially since from all appearances I won't be moving by then. But that's another issue altogether. (No BAD news--just NO news.)
